Summer and Fall 2025 advising worksheets are due by April 18. Advising worksheets are processed in the order they are received.
All documents are to be submitted to vmaforms@ua.edu from your student “crimson.ua.edu” email address.
Emails from outside the UA system will not be encrypted and therefore not accepted by the VMA Office.
This is the ONLY method in which documents will be accepted.
The items listed below are required to process your benefits. Failure to complete the items listed below will result in processing delays of VA payments.
Submit all documents simultaneously. The VMA Office will not accept individual documents.
New Students
Certificate of Eligibility (COE)
The COE is proof that the student is eligible for VA Benefits. To receive a COE, visit www.va.gov/education/how-to-apply/ to apply for your benefit.
You may submit a confirmation of your application as a COE placeholder for up to one semester.
Email this worksheet to your advisor after it is completed.
This will be submitted to the vmaforms email by your Advisor.
Concise Schedule
Attach a copy of your concise schedule from MyBama.
This should be attached to the advising worksheet you email to your advisor.
If you are a veteran, please submit a copy of your DD214.
These documents are required of all students, including Graduate and Distance students.
Add/Drop
If you add or drop a class after submitting your Advising Worksheet, you will need to complete a new Advising Worksheet. This new worksheet needs to be signed by your advisor. Please also attach a copy of your Concise Schedule to the Advising Worksheet you submit to your advisor.
